Background Information[]
The Empire State Building, located in New York City, was the world's tallest building from 1931 to 1973. In 1964, floodlights were added to illuminate the top of the building at night, in colors chosen to match seasonal and other events. The floodlights bathed the building in red, white, and blue for several months after the events of September 11th, 2001. In 2009, the building was lit for one night in red and yellow, the colors of the Communist People's Republic of China, to celebrate the 60 years since its founding, amid controversy.
On "V"[]
The Empire State Building can often be seen on "V," usually in the background. It can often be seen behind Anna during scenes in her chambers on the New York Mothership . It has been shown numerous times bathed in red and yellow light as it was to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of the Communist People's Republic of China when viewed from Anna's Mothership, however it has been shown bathed in red, white, and blue light, the colors of the flag of the United States of America, when viewed from the ground.
